Systems Engineering at AWE
The Warhead Systems Engineering Team provides the capability to design, coordinate, integrate and verify Nuclear Warheads and enabling systems to meet current, and potential future customer requirements.
We manage the systems from cradle to grave taking consideration of safety, performance and through life maintenance while interfacing with the MoD and other strategic defence partners, while supporting AWE to deliver an integrated solution.
This role will involve developing warhead components and sub-systems that contain pressurised equipment, mechanical structures, electrical sensors and chemical interfaces.
AWE has a great opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Warhead Enhanced Nuclear Safety Team).
The successful candidate will be working with a multi-disciplined team made up of Engineers, Physicists and Material Scientist to provide concepts, prototypes and validated engineered solutions to support Replacement Warhead technologies.
AWE is looking for a Project Engineer to provide Engineering capability to the Trials, Experiments & Technology Development Sub-Function, to support with a wide range of challenging projects and electrical maintenance work within a newly formed Enabling Team.
