Field Operative Location: Croft/Mountsorrel, Leicestershire Job Type: Temporary, Ongoing £12.81 Leicestershire County Council is currently seeking a Field Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining highways, footpaths, and structures to ensure they meet statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will be someone who is skilled in various maintenance tasks and is comfortable using equipment and power tools. Day-to-day of the role: Undertake various maintenance works such as kerb laying, footway and carriageway construction, excavations, drainage, block paving, slabbing, and brickwork to manholes. Perform routine gully emptying and attend to drainage problems. Lay bitumen, spread, level, and lay materials to lines and levels. Support on Construction and Surfacing activities. Drive or operate plant machinery and use equipment such as saws. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in highways maintenance or a similar role. Proficiency in using equipment and power tools. Ability to follow safe working procedures. Willingness to work outside of normal working hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Ability to work in all weather conditions. A strong commitment to safety and quality service delivery.
