What is the Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) Apprenticeship? The CAP Apprenticeship is an 18-month training programme with Elysium Healthcare psychology services and the University of Plymouth, which provides a distinct career path to start working in psychological practice. A Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) is a unique role with on-the-job training and, once qualified, you will be retained as a qualified CAP at The Farndon Unit You will be trained to be a qualified, British Psychological Society registered Clinical Associate Psychologist, which will enable you to work alongside other psychological professionals providing psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to adults in inpatient settings, under the supervision of a Practitioner Psychologist. How does it work? The Farndon Unit psychology staff, Elysium Healthcare's regional staff and the University of Plymouth's academic staff will jointly support you in your learning journey, where your time will be split between online academic learning and working as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team at The Farndon Unit. Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship, you will continue your career development in the hospital departments and will have access to various Elysium career opportunities while you continue to build your psychology experience.
