JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer - Food manufacturing Working on a busy manufacturing site that operates 24/7, this Monday to Friday this Mechanical Engineer role will see you involved in a wide range of activities including: 75% reaction maintenance / 25% Project work (inception, design, build, install, commission). Provide specialised assistance with maintenance repair issues. Inspect machines / components and replace / repair kit where necessary. Manage small to large projects. You'll also get involved in new systems integrations, machine upgrades and ensuring everything is operational, from health and safety perspective. Once you're up and running, you'll join the team in the on-call rota (one week in six) and have the opportunity to either workdays and be on call or work nights for the week and earn the extra cash, the choice will be yours. You might be a Field Service Engineer, looking to move to a single site role or a Single Site Maintenance Engineer or Technician. Whatever your background you'll demonstrate: A recognised qualification such as BTEC, C&G or NVQ Level 3 or you could have come through the apprenticeship route. Experience servicing and repairing a diverse range of production plant systems including conveyors, elevators, sieves, grinders, ancillary services, and a variety of process equipment. Experience of flour or feed milling, and medium / heavy industrial plant systems would be an advantage along with boilers, compressors, and sprinkler systems. Excellent problem solving and fault-finding skills. Show confidence in your work when discussing projects with various clients. Be able to work from heights on customer site visits. Have experience in steel fabrication and a good understanding of the manufacturing process.
