The Head of IT is championing an increase in the use of technology in the business and to support this they are recruiting a Systems Integration Engineer for their head office in Andover (3 Days in the office). Your new role The business have decided to take more control of their IT Systems and are bringing this role in-house from a 3rd party so you'll have lots of autonomy and influence. The role is focussed on system integrations, ensuring systems talk with each other and transmit data securely, alongside developing new integrations/API's to help scale the companies ecommerce platform. You'll be the go-to person for Software development knowledge, but the scope of the role is much wider. You'll liaise directly with customers and internal staff to define individual needs, then put that into practice to design scalable and robust solutions. You'll also be a support resource, troubleshooting complex issues and developing practical solutions for the team. You'll report into the Head of IT but will touch most areas of the business, liaising with other internal departments and external 3rd parties to develop, manage and support our integrations. This is a newly created role so you can make it your own and progress What you'll need to succeed We are looking for deep experience with API Integrations and Data Feeds and experience working with C, Python and JavaScript so will be a mid or senior level Engineer. We're looking for 3-5 years experience of developing, managing, supporting, and using APIs. You'll also ideally have Minimum 3-5 years working with JSON and CSV files. Technical knowledge and understanding of different transmitting protocols including SFTP. You must have strong communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly to internal employees and external 3rd parties, ensuring that you know your audience and use appropriate vocabulary and terminology. You should also be computer literate and able to work in fast-paced environment and be adept at managing complex service enquiries. Previous experience in service planning and scheduling would be of great interest! The Breakdown Manager will be responsible for logging all of the breakdowns that come in to the email box and called directly into the office in the service system. You will then communicate with the customers to triage the issues and/or try to resolve over the phone. Any works required will be booked in with the resource planner and you should discuss the nature of the issue witht he engineering team. Solid exposure within an engineering environment is required, so that you are able to understand the roots of any issues and how they would be best resolved.
