Candidates need to communicate well at a variety of levels (excellent listening skills, verbal, written), have good analytical and problem-solving skills, be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision, capabe of understanding specifications and drawings, understand all measuring equipment within the department (including micrometres, verniers, height gauges, screw measuring equipment and use of Vision systems).
Working on dayshift initially with a view to moving onto a 2 or 3-shift rotation, this person must have at least 1 years' experience of working in a parts inspection environment, ideally within an engineering business (not essential).
The role requires the post holder to inspect a wide variety of manufactured product, using handheld measuring equipment, vision systems and other associated inspection equipment, support production in identifying issues, work to standard operating sheets as well as engineering drawings and specification sheets.
The work ranges from day to day using many different material types and thicknesses ranging from 0.9m - 5mm mild steel, 1mm - 10mm aluminium & 1mm - 3mm stainless steel.
Starting on dayshift for induction and training before moving onto a 2-shift rotation this person must be a confident TIG welder able to read engineering drawings without assistance.
Please note that this role will predominately involve working with stainless steel.
Working with a variety of hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders and pad sanding tools.
Mostly dressing welds on components of various shapes and sizes ready for painting.
