The main focus of this role will be to : Follow plans and directions from the Teacher or Instructor Using specialist (curricular / learning) skills / training / experience to support learners. Assisting with the development and implementation of learner behaviour support plans, individual risk assessments and communication strategies. Establishing productive working relationships with learners, acting as a role model and setting high expectations. Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all learners within an educational environment. Supporting learners consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs. Encouraging learners to interact positively and work cooperatively with others and engage all learners in activities. Promoting independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance. Providing feedback to learners and your line manager in relation to progress, achievement and problems. Working with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment. Working with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons / work plans as appropriate. Candidate Profile : Experience of working with complex needs Knowledge of the Educational, Health, Care Plan process Knowledge of Data Protection Act and confidentiality issues All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
