Role overview As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). ABOUT THE SCHOOL Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker who can support children in an SEN school in Sheffield. The school is for children aged 11-16 years with a wide range of learning difficulties needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). In addition to learning needs some pupils have sensory needs including visual impairments, hearing impairments and multi-sensory impairments; some pupils also have complex medical needs. The school would like a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Personal care may be involved. Located within Sheffield, the school is a short walk away from public transport. The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.
