Planning Manager Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid Location: Castle Point Salary: £48,474 to £55,309 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Manager to join a local client during a period of significant change and growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering high-quality developments, contributing to the new Plan', and supporting housing and regeneration initiatives in the local Borough. This role offers the chance to influence the direction of the department and support strategic decision-making. Day to Day of the role: Contribute to the corporate objectives and priorities, and continuous improvement in service delivery. Ensure development management achieves high standards of design and place-making, working with developers to this end. Manage the Development Management and Enforcement Service, supporting the overall management of Development Services and input into corporate projects. Provide professional planning advice to the local authority, maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity. Commission and deliver all aspects of development management and enforcement services, including pre-application advice, planning application determination, appeal processing, and planning enforcement. Ensure planning services comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and support consistent decision-making for the effective implementation of the Local Plan. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience in Planning, within a local authority or private sector. Degree level education in a related subject or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge. Strong communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills. Ability to build positive and dynamic relationships with planning partners. Excellent project planning, management, and delivery skills. Ability to multitask and work to tight timescales.
