Our client, a leading luxury retailer, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their rapidly expanding team. This role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, is pivotal for the success of the finance team and wider business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing day-to-day accounts operations while also contributing strategically to drive continued success. This position offers an attractive salary range of £65,000 - £70,000 and is based in Manchester City Centre. What you'll do: As a Financial Controller, you will be at the heart of our client's finance team. Your role will involve managing daily accounting operations, providing valuable financial insights, and supporting strategic initiatives. You will coordinate annual budgeting processes and prepare financial forecasts that underpin business planning and resource allocation. Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and tax laws will be part of your remit. You will also design comprehensive reporting packages for various timeframes. Managing cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organisation's ability to meet its financial obligations will be another key aspect of your role. Embody a people-first culture by providing supportive management to your direct report. Enhance the quality of line management within the Finance department through feedback, training, and development plans. Oversee daily accounting operations and provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives. Coordinate the annual budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts for business planning and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and tax laws. Design weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages and board packs. Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organisation's ability to meet financial obligations. What you bring: The ideal Financial Controller candidate would bring a wealth of experience from a fast-paced, e-commerce environment. You should have excellent organisational skills and can prioritise tasks effectively. You would adhere strictly to processes, enforces controls, and maintains a robust control environment. Your professional judgement is sound, backed by strong communication and interpersonal skills. You are diligent with an eye for detail. Advanced Excel skills are essential for this role. The candidate should hold ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification and have at least two years' experience in a similar role. Proven experience working in a fast-paced e-commerce environment with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills. Demonstrable ability to adhere to processes, enforce controls and maintain a robust control environment. Strong professional judgement with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Diligence with an eye for detail. Advanced Excel skills. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. At least two years' experience in a similar role.
