Financial Controller Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 Location: Edinburgh An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join the Senior Management team of a global business that focuses on renewable energy, and in doing so oversee the UK-based finance department. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the organisation, working directly with the Managing Director to review, develop and improve financial processes. Enjoy flexibility with options for hybrid or remote working. What you'll do: As a Financial Controller, you will play an integral part in the Senior Management team. Your role will involve supporting the Managing Director in developing and improving the organisational structure while managing the finance team. You will be responsible for presenting financial information to business leaders, ensuring financial compliance within the GB region, advising on financial plans, completing monthly and yearly closings, conducting budgeting, variance analysis, securing correctness of financial statements, liaising with Global Treasury among other responsibilities. This role requires someone who can align financial strategies with business needs. Support the Managing Director to develop and improve the structure of the organisation, providing essential cover during periods of annual leave. Manage and lead the finance team (GL accounting and service controlling teams). Present financial information and translate numbers into relatable context for business leaders as a member of the Senior Management team. Oversee all general ledger accounting, service controlling and business partnering topics within the country. Ensure financial compliance (internal and external) within the GB region. Advise and support business unit's management in the development of financial plans, and in the commercial, operational and financial delivery of strategic objectives. Complete monthly and yearly closings. Conduct budgeting, variance analysis and reports for management in GB and Financial Teams in overseas. Secure correctness and quality of financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss) and reporting packages for all local service entities. Liaise with Global Treasury to provide and validate local cash flow information for the global cash forecast. What you bring: The ideal Financial Controller will be a qualified accountant; ACA, ACCA or CIMA. You will have the ability to work within a Senior Management team and provide financial information in a user-friendly manner. Your strong understanding of business operations and ability to align financial strategies with business needs will be crucial in this role. With several years' experience in Accounting, excellent analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office, and leadership skills, you will be well-equipped to lead our finance team. A willingness to travel and a full UK driving license are also required. Qualified Accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA. Ability to work within a Senior Management team and provide financial information in a user-friendly manner. Strong understanding of business operations and ability to align financial strategies with business needs. Several years' experience in Accounting. Excellent analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and experience of leading a team. Willingness to travel. Full, UK driving licence.
