My client, a leading global business operating in Coding and Marking solutions, are seeking a Development Technician based in St Ives, Huntingdon The ideal Development Technician based in St Ives, Huntingdon will be responsible for operating and maintaining drop control rigs. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for observing and adjusting the positions of the printed drops, with the resulting large quantity of data needed for printer operation. The Development Technician will also be involved in a wider range of technology development activities including lab maintenance . The Development Technician based in St Ives, Huntingdon main responsibilities will be Operation and maintenance of our drop control rigs. On a day to day basis develop what my client calls rasters, which is determining the correct parameters (charge voltages) required to print our ink jet droplets in the correct position. Capture and store the data; moving smoothly to next raster when complete. Work in a collaborative manner with the team, agreeing priorities, timelines and pro actively working through any obstacles. Communicate effectively through verbal updates (daily meetings) and technical reports. Test & Development Technician / Southam / To £32,000 - £40,000 Are you an experienced Test & Development Technician? You could be progressing your career at a world class Automotive company that have pioneered products for the motorsport sector over the last 60 years. You will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical test installation, rotating machines and test rig preparation. You will be initially supporting the building of the test capability to enable the development and qualification of new products manufactured. Location / Hours: The company is based in Southam, Warwickshire you'll be working five days per week; you'll need to be able to drive there or be on close public transport links. Test and Development Duties/Requirements: Background in automotive/aerospace development environment Strong mechanical fitting skills with experience in rotational machinery such as test rigs, Jig and fixtures, transmissions, axles, electric motors, engines, etc. Working Knowledge/Experience of system or component testing on test rigs preferably transmissions or electric motors. Strong metalworking skills and ability to use test workshop equipment (lathe, milling machine, pillar drill, welder etc.). Knowledge of Instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition equipment and powertrain test cells. Experience of building and stripping transmissions or other rotational machinery. Experience of test rig calibration processes. Experience of transmission inspection and measurement. Development Chemist Corby Hours - Monday to Friday 40 hrs Salary - Competive DOE Our established client based in Corby is recruiting a Development Chemist on a permanent basis to manage Research and Development Projects from brief to scale up to production, taking an active lead with formulation work. Working with support from the R&D Manager you will be an active member of the Research and Development Team, develop and implement plans to ensure the successful launch of products ensuing products are developed according to the requested launch dates, costs, and claims. Briefs can come from both customer requests and internal business strategy. You will also work in collaboration with other departments that may cross over with development projects such as Regulatory, Supply Chain and Marketing, etc This role is also responsible for technical support, working with Operations and Quality, supporting the Laboratory Supervisor where needed. Main responsibilities Manage new product developments, not limited to new formulation work, from brief through to commercialisation. Ensuring project minutes are accurately documented and updated throughout. Present projects to key stakeholders such as Commercial and Marketing teams where relevant. Present regularly throughout key stages of projects. Develop timelines capturing key milestones and launch dates. Review briefs and create development plans, capturing how project requirements are going to be met, including claim substantiation, (Following the relevant industry standards where applicable), shelf-life determination, production trials and costings. Work closely with the Regulatory team ensuring project plans and formulation work have considered essential requirements that may be required to ensure the product is compliant. Be an active member in the laboratory ensuring any development tests such as stability samples and samples required for external testing are created accurately and promptly. Be an active member supporting the Commercial team with technical queries and samples. Be active member for the company to help with technical issues such as out of specification results supporting the Quality Manager to overcome these issues. Be present where necessary for production trials which relate to development projects. Ensure product claims have been substantiated, accurately, and in accordance with the latest standards where applicable. Ensure all chemical ingredients have been reviewed and meet all necessary safety and regulatory requirements. Be responsible for providing this information prior to launch. Work within expected health and safety protocols set by the business. Support the Research and Development Manager with any other duties were deemed necessary. Qualifications and experience: Essential: Chemistry degree, specifically within formulation area Essential: Project Management Experience, specifically managing development projects within the FMCG area, from brief to commercialisation, ideally within Healthcare, Biocides,Cosmetics, Detergents and/or I&I Nice to have: Experience specifically formulating biocides and cosmetic products. Nice to have: An awareness of CLP regulations and biocidal claims substantiation testing standards.
