Overview of the Design Engineering Manager

The purpose of this role is to provide engineering leadership and direction to the design engineering team, developing and safeguarding our leading position.
You will be responsible for designing, overseeing, and governing the implementation of all architectural principles and practices within the Group.
The Role
Our client is a prominent property related organisation in the South Tyneside area who have focused heavily over a number of years on driving business transformation through technology.
They are currently looking to appoint a Head of Enterprise Architecture, a role which will proactively and holistically guide the leadership team, Systems managers, product owners and various distributed delivery teams through transformation and optimisation initiatives, supporting the formulation of business strategy, outcomes, and capabilities.
We are supporting a Sunderland based business in their search for an Enterprise Architect.
A review of resources has led to them identifying the need to being on an experienced Enterprise Architect initially who should, in the medium term, be leading a small team of solutions architects who'll add detail to the strategy they define.
Although well established, and with a very positive view of technology at an executive level, the business haven't had anyone in an architect role in recent years.
