Summary The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us. We're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member to join us at Brockhampton. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible. The role will include weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays, however, there are no evenings or split shifts. Salary: £11.50 per hour. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll be based at Brockhampton, (near Bromyard, Herefordshire, WR6 5TB), a 1,700-acre farmed estate with a romantic timber-framed manor house dating back to the late 14th century. There are miles of walks through the park and woodland, featuring ancient trees and the Lawn Pool. As well as the manor house, Brockhampton also has a chapel, second-hand bookshop and the Granary kiosk located in the courtyard. What you'll be doing As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the caf. With your love of working with people, your can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial. You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food. We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. In fact, it's a big team effort and it's why our Collections Assistant are so important. Please note you'll be working regular bank holidays and weekends. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Collections and House Officer, you'll join a closely knit team of three house team members to care for, interpret and display the collections of Brockhampton. With Brockhampton's 600th birthday in 2025, you'll be joining the team at an exciting time of celebration as you work to conserve the collection for the next 600 years. Click here for more information about this location What you'll be doing As a Collections Assistant, you'll be working with a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections. No detail will go unnoticed, and you'll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You'll keep accurate records too. In this visitor facing role, we'd love you to talk to visitors about the work you're doing, and the collections we have. You'll work as a team to create imaginative children's trails, displays and activities as well as engaging visitors both face to face and through social media content. As we are a small house team, you'll work alongside and supervising our wonderful team of volunteers to deliver the best visitor experience alongside key holder duties to open/close the house on designated days.
