Data Communications Engineer Datacoms Engineer Job Type: Full-time Location: Redhill - with some travel to customer sites required. Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Exciting opportunity to join an established Telecommunications organisation for a Datacomms Engineer with a strong background in data communications, networking and ideally satellite communication systems. The role involves providing high-level technical support, installation, and commissioning engineering resources for a range telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will be a lead field representative for installations and provide training to other engineers. This is a rare opportunity to join a market leader in their field working on a wide range of telecommunication and network systems, as well as being involved with a number of different clients and projects. Day to Day of the role: Apply dedicated knowledge and skills in data communications, including email applications and complex computer networks. Install and commission engineering resources worldwide for MoD/Gov systems. Support business generation aspects by lending technical support in relation to the product. Assist with the build and test of new or repaired systems for Systems. Provide training on terminals for bespoke solutions. Work with management and marketing on technical aspects of product marketing and customer demonstrations. Understand the use of cryptographic equipment and its application in systems. Set up and demonstrate complex satellite communication systems to meet customer needs. Perform system administration tasks as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience with Satcom terminals (DVB/Inmarsat). Ability to achieve DV Security Clearance Excellent communication and time management skills. Good administration skills and a flexible, proactive approach. Awareness of MoD systems and requirements. Broad IT & Network skills. NVQ Level 4 or similar level qualification.
