About the role We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our growing technical team with a good track record of delivering and maintaining web applications to a high standard. This is also an exciting time of transformation for our Business and Fulfilment Services domain, with a major investment in moving from legacy on-premise systems to a cutting-edge/cloud-based future. You'll be expected to develop, maintain, improve, and support our services, so that we can continue to deliver ongoing high level of availability for our internal and external customers at a high standard. Code should be written using best practices to ensure it is clean, secure, up-to-date and testable with no performance bottlenecks. You will also be required to carry out code inspections and peer reviews to provide assurance of code quality against business requirements. What we are looking for If you are interested in joining a team that lies at the heart of what OS is about, we are looking for someone that can demonstrate desirable skills and experience in some the following technologies: Skills in software engineering and industry best practice, such as CI/CD principles, TDD, Agile. Developing and supporting applications throughout their lifecycle either on-premise or cloud-based technologies (e.g. Azure, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). Strong experience working on the following technologies: Java, Spring, Linux, REST, Git, CI/CD, Cloud based technology like Azure Knowledge in some of the following technologies are desirable: C#, Azure application development, ADO Pipelines, Unit testing, Geospatial technologies (FME/ArcGIS), Application servers (TomEE, WebLogic), Databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle), Containers (AKS/Docker), JS Frameworks, Test automation, Service monitoring. This is a new and exciting role within the team where you will be able to lead and take ownership for implementing new ways of working both internally across the trading teams and externally within our supplier base. Working closely with design, buying, merchandising, supply chain and quality teams you will be responsible for driving and co-ordinating our key supplier relationships, supplier assessment, supplier strategy and supplier engagement. Reporting to Head of Quality Assurance & Sourcing you will be an integral part of the team to drive our business and commercial strategy forward maximising efficiencies in how we operate and end to end management of our key partners. Your Mission Lead & own sourcing base & supplier management end to end with a clear process to assess our supplier base and drive key partnerships. Evaluate supplier performance, to ensure that they meet the company's needs and expectations. Working with Tech Services develop a functional / interactive supplier database to capture all our supplier details and data. Develop & manage a supplier scorecard process and embed within the trading teams for us to be able to assess our supplier base objectively. Identify supplier rationalisation opportunities to cut the tail and become bigger and more important with fewer suppliers. Develop & manage an onboarding process for new suppliers and exit process to manage annual supplier numbers. Develop & implement a supplier forecasting plan with the trading teams. Evolve "Key partner Top 20 process" rhythm & routine with targeted growth & return. Be involved in the ethical audit process with Verisio, our dedicated 3rd party ethical compliance partner. Management of supplier T&C's, including payment terms, defect rates and rebates. Work with Procurement Manager and Buying teams to set a de-risked sourcing policy. Develop supplier communication tools and engagement plan. Manage supplier communications and conferences.
