Business Development Manager We are a recruitment agency seeking a talented Business Development Manager for our client, a newly acquired company located in Redditch. This exciting role falls under a well-established umbrella group in the industry. The position is primarily office-based with travel to customer sites as required. Coverage Area:Midlands, operating out of Redditch, from Oxford to Manchester. Hours:38.5 hours per week (08:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30-15:30 Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break). Ideal Location:Within 40 minutes from the office in Redditch (B98 8JY). Salary: Up to £40K depending on knowledge and experience 15% bonus against agreed objectives and business performance. Key Responsibilities of Business Development Manager Achieve or surpass personal sales targets and gross margin objectives. Maintain regular contact with the current customer base using the CRM system and provide timely reports to the business. Identify potential new customers for core products and develop strategies to convert them into active accounts. Keep internal reporting systems updated, including Microsoft Outlook calendar, Sales Funnel, Visit/Contact reports, etc. Handle the processing and costing of inquiries and quotations, following up in a timely manner. Work on general and specific projects with internal colleagues related to sales activities. Deliver new business through effective project management with relevant cross-departmental teams. Support the internal sales team and account managers as needed. Attend and travel to relevant UK and overseas events when required. Assist with customer-specific activities such as aged debt management and control. Skills and Experience of Business Development Manager Strong ability to build relationships with customers and internal colleagues. Proven expertise in customer relationship building. Ability to identify business opportunities and develop strategies to convert them. Self-starter with excellent time management and reporting skills. Meticulous attention to detail and experience in managing customer-led projects. Strong communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels internally and externally. Demonstrated negotiation skills and commercial acumen. Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (Intermediate minimum). Valid passport with no travel restrictions. Current, valid driving licence. Experience in selling industrial fasteners or engineered components.
