My client is looking to recruit a high calibre, experienced, and ambitious individual as a result of continued growth across the business. Within this role, you will be reporting directly into the Costings Manager, and you will have the opportunity to shape the role and take ownership of the full costing process. Some Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant include; Establishing the standard costs of services or products Updating the standard costs of products and services based on the associated expenses Monitor standard costs and regularly update them Review manufacturing performance and stock Monitoring balances and variances across different product lines. Benefits: Enhanced holidays Bonus scheme Flexible working Your New Role As Cost Accountant (12 month fixed term contract) : As Cost Accountant you shall work within the costing team, working closely with others in the department, and also with the SSC. As a partner to stakeholders across the manufacturing site, this is a varied and interesting role within a talented finance department. Role Responsibilities: Costing new products and authorising through the system workflow procedure. Preparing monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts including GRNI, Stock in transit and inventory accounts. Identification, analysis and reporting of monthly manufacturing cost variances, PPV & freight, working to identify and fix any cost related issues. Working closely with the production teams to assist with new product development and customer tenders. Production of monthly financials, analysing actual performance versus forecasts and identifying areas of focus for management whilst also assisting with preparation of statutory financial statements. Financial reporting to analyse key movements in inventory balances. Completing the quarterly standard cost update ensuring all new costs are accurate and communicated to the senior management team of the business. Assisting in the annual budgeting process including calculating revised overhead absorption rates. Providing responses to external audit requests during the annual audit. Other ad-hoc reporting/queries. Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply: To be considered for this role you shall have a proven track record of adding value in a cost accounting role. With significant experience of Cost Accounting, you shall have acquired business partnering skills, and the capacity to develop and maintain working relationships. Able to provide detailed analysis, you shall be either QBE, or Part/fully qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA). Initially be able to commit to a 12 month contract, there may also be the potential for this role to become permanent.
