Job Description: As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing control software for various programmable control systems, including Siemens S7 Classic and/or TIA, and Rockwell Studio 5000. You will join the dynamic controls department within a well-established and respected control system engineering company based in the Norfolk. Responsibilities: Design and develop control software for Siemens S7 Classic and/or TIA and Rockwell Studio 5000-based programmable control systems. Write PLC software from first principles, with at least 3 years of experience in this area. Write safety software and validate it against a safety matrix. Configure and set up VFD drives. Utilise STL and/or IL coding for control system development. Work with ProfiNet systems or similar communication protocols. Read and interpret electrical drawings. Conduct basic electrical fault finding using a multimeter. Create documentation such as FDS (Functional Design Specification), O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals, etc. Utilise Microsoft Office tools effectively for documentation and communication purposes. Demonstrate a good understanding of the English language, both spoken and written, as most customers are based in the UK. Occasionally work weekends and stay overnight away from home as required. Minimum Requirements: 3 years of experience writing PLC software from first principles, preferably in Siemens S7 Classic and/or TIA. Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 is also acceptable. Experience in writing safety software and validating it against a safety matrix. Proficiency in VFD drive configuration and setup. Strong knowledge of STL and/or IL coding. Familiarity with ProfiNet systems or similar communication protocols. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings. Competence in carrying out basic electrical fault finding using a multimeter. Experience in creating documentation such as FDS, O&M manuals, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Right to work in the UK.
