Your new company An opportunity has arisen within the Financial Reporting & Property team where the team purpose is to ensure a proportionate balance between accurate and timely reporting, within a robust control environment, whilst supporting the business in delivering key enterprise objectives. Your new role You will be part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Team, which is responsible for the preparation of the full year Annual Report and Accounts and half year reporting, together with month end reporting and supporting the control environment across the organisation. The team are also responsible for the various aspects of tax accounting including Corporation Tax and VAT. Reporting to the Accounting & Reporting Manager you will enhance the organisations Financial Reporting Function through: Monthly reporting of key accounting areas including IFRS9, EIR and ERC, regulatory provisions Take an active role in half year, interim and year end audits Preparation of the financial statements for the organisation and subsidiaries Regular assessment of key accounting judgements including the preparation of papers for Audit Committee Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors Ownership of the preparation and audit of subsidiary statutory financial statements You will gain exposure to a broad range of financial reporting activities; from expected loan loss accounting, to corporation tax, to hedging accounting and treasury accounting. You will develop an end-to-end understanding of the Financial Reporting & Control function to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Society's financial reporting. You will also develop a strong working relationship with other teams across the CFO Directorate to ensure consistency across all external reporting. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Management Accountant to join our high profile not for profit sector client on a 12 month Fixed term Contract covering a Maternity leave. Client Details My client is a renowned Not for Profit organisation based in Cardiff. They have a strong commitment to providing excellent service and delivering outstanding results across Wales. Description The Management Accountant will complete accurate and timely month end financial processes for specific enabling service areas. Ensuring accuracy of technical financial treatment with a true and fair view of financial performance whilst maintaining compliance with financial policies, procedures and controls. The role is responsible for supporting the commercial department, IT, procurement, tax and estates. Duties will include; Prepare and post monthly accounting journals and regular accruals into SAP for month end activities. Complete a variety of cost reconciliations and some balance sheet reconciliations. Production of accurate and timely information, including month end close and reporting to support decision making and compliance in the business. This will include variance analysis and commentary to the business along with being involved in business cost review meetings. Work closely with the business and/or enabling services to prepare and complete financial plans (budgets and run rates) including organising and leading business planning sessions. Provide detailed analysis and understanding cost drivers and areas of controllable expenditure with focus on the efficiency of the operation, base level costs and cost trends and developments in the external environment. Support the budget creation processes. Work with external and internal audit teams as required annually and from time to time. Support and work within your direct team to identify and improve or remove inefficient processes. Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business. Profile A successful Management Accountant should have: A recognised professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA. Proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Job Offer A competitive salary in the region of £45,000 - £50,000 per annum. 12 month FTC 25 days annual leave hybrid working - 2 days in the office An engaging and supportive company culture.
