Your new company A rapidly growing retail group. Your new role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will focus on the financial management of a £300m asset base. This will include financial reporting and analysis, Capex and cash flow analysis and the improvement of processes and controls. Key responsibilities will include: The preparation of monthly Fixed Asset Registers and Reconciliation to trial balances at Country and entity level. The capitalisation of assets under construction, liaising with Project Managers to clear aged items. Journals to capitalise capital expenditure. Running depreciation reports and improving internal controls. Ensuring adherence to IFRS accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements. Supporting group reporting requirements. Enhancing existing reporting and developing business capability and interpretation of key operational performance metrics. The day to day management of a team of part qualified analysts. What you'll need to succeed You will be a fully qualified accountant with strong technical skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders across the business. You will enjoy improving processes and controls and leading a small team of staff. You will be available to start quickly and happy to commit to an initial six month contract. Part of one of the largest divisions in this group, you shall be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you shall work alongside experienced and knowledgeable senior finance professionals. Main role duties: Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis, and that all balances are correct and differences investigated. Support variance and trend analysis. Production and posting of key journals including accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income. Support the commercial finance team with information and performance analysis to assist decision making for local teams. Develop robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed appropriately in line with Group requirements. Support in the production of accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts as well as flash results for Financial Planning and Commercial teams. Support the fixed asset finance team with information and guidance for project accounting. supervise junior/trainee accountant staff and assist in their development, taking ownership of your teams work and outputs. Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply: To be considered for this role you shall be a part qualified/qualified accountant (CIMA ACA ACCA) or QBE with experience in a similar management accounting role. With strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills you shall also have strong excel skills with an eye for the detail. You will also have the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
