Supply Chain Buyer Location: Hartlepool, County Durham Job Purpose: To work as part of the Supply Chain Team to support the effective procurement of products, materials, and services relating to the manufacture of pipe coatings. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Procurement of raw materials and services, both direct and indirect. Management of purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment. Securing Requests for Quotations (RFQs) from suppliers. Negotiation of purchasing terms to achieve the best possible value. Selection and evaluation of vendors to maintain a reliable supply chain. Providing support to customers by handling queries and resolving enquiries efficiently. Investigating and resolving any invoice queries in a timely manner. Expediting any items required for production by collaborating with all relevant departments to meet customer requirements. Preparing reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information to support decision-making. Providing assistance to the Supply Chain Manager as required. Key Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Analytical skills to prepare and interpret procurement reports. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. Proficiency in relevant software applications and procurement tools. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
