My client a worldwide media broadcasting organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Facilities Engineer (M&E) to maintain and repair the buildings Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing works. The client is based in NW London and comprises of 3 small units that house 200 - 400 staff. The position would form part of the Facilities team of 3 reporting directly into the Head of Facilities. The role would typically be a 9-6 Mon - Friday but would also be required to work a shift pattern when needed to complete certain projects which may warrant hours such as 12pm - 8pm or 2pm - 10pm weekends and bank holidays. Job Title: Technical Facilities Engineer Summary: Supports and manages technical facilities requirements, ensuring optimal operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the company. Key Responsibilities: Oversee MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) services. Ensure technical equipment functions correctly and manage daily operations. Diagnose faults and promptly restore equipment functionality. Address technical needs from various departments. Perform regular MEP system inspections and maintenance. Resolve issues with HVAC, chillers, pumps, fire systems, generators, elevators, etc. Handle equipment procurement, installation, and management. Coordinate and execute preventative maintenance to minimize business disruption. Develop energy efficiency strategies and manage utility costs. Comply with safety and regulatory standards; maintain emergency response plans. Keep detailed records of maintenance, equipment details, and safety checks. Report on facility performance, maintenance schedules, and budgetary needs. Support Health and Safety improvements and ensure statutory compliance. Conduct surveys, design improvements, and oversee project completion. Maintain the Building Maintenance Database and CAFM system. Monitor and report on equipment performance. Engage in mechanical design tasks and review electrical systems as needed. Generate monthly facilities reports and manage RAMs and PTW issuance. Requirements: Formal Engineering qualification in mechanical or related field. Experience in Facilities or Building Maintenance Engineering. Team player with self-motivation and the ability to motivate others. Capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and positive interaction with colleagues. Flexible, collaborative, results-driven, and confident in decision-making.
