Our client are a specialist interior fit out contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors. With a busy summer coming up, the requirement to bring on an experienced Construction Project Manager is crucial to their success. As a Project Manager, you'll be expected to... Work as part of a team to achieve common objectives Be confident communicating at both client and site levels Foresee and highlight design and site issues with ability to offer proposed solutions Have an understanding and in-depth knowledge of departmental roles and responsibilities Work on your own initiative and rely on technical experience in the industry Write and manage a contract programme on Microsoft Projects Source and requisition of materials Control up to 4 live sites at a time (dependent on contract value) Source relevant and compliant subcontractors Work with commercial teams and assist in preparing valuations and final accounts Liaise with internal departments including Purchasing, Health & Safety and CAD to ensure smooth running of projects Candidate Attributes 5 years proven experience fitting out of retail, leisure and food sector projects ranging from £100K-£3M Passion for delivering excellence Must live within the West Midlands and happy to travel nationwide Ability to build strong client and contractor relationships ensuring client expectations are exceeded and contractors are also equipped to succeed Work well under pressure, managing multiple projects concurrently Follow organisational procedures and policies Direction of site-based trades Comprehensive understanding of H&S requirements Computer literate - Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects Programme control Proactive and positive problem solver Cost control experience Copes well under pressure Summary of role Position: Construction Project Manager Location of office: West Midlands near Birmingham Client: Main Contractor Location of Projects: Nationwide across the UK Sectors: Leisure, Retail and Hospitality Project values range from £100K-£3M Type: Full Time Permanent position Monday-Friday Salary: £55,000-£60,000 (DOE) plus car allowance, pension, annual leave, private healthcare, company phone and laptop. You will ensure statutory and regulatory maintenance delivered internally and with 3rd party contractors is completed and documented. You will be directly accountable for ensuring all facilities and building services achieve availability and standards expectations.You will use expertise, and experience to make strong well-informed decisions to prioritise tasks, trying your best to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.You will work collaboratively with the Engineering Management and operations teams.You will ensure all works are within the guidelines and constraints of all company, legislative and safety criteria.You will ensure all Planned Preventive Maintenance, Inspections & Verisae work orders are completed within deadlines, ensuring world class standards within the warehouse.You will manage contractor compliance to safe systems of work and specifications.You will deputise for the engineering manager when required to ensure like for like' service is maintained during periods of absence. What you'll need to have Be able to lead a team of experienced building services technicians across multiple disciplines.Experience of managing building service statutory and regulatory maintenanceExperience of managing contractors. Reviewing risk assessments and method statements.A wealth of experience in a similar building services engineering fieldTime served apprentice or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role with a minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
