If you love speaking with people, and organising things then this could be your ideal role. This business organises a range of events throughout the year, for businesses and people working in 4 different industry sectors. Behind this, are the conference producers who are at the heart of any event. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING... You'll be working alongside a Director of the business and planning a series of around 15 events for 2025. You'll be coming up with ideas for events, looking into the industries and existing events, identifying hot topics, and seeing if there are any gaps where you can do something. But an event is no good if there is no interest, so you'll need to assess if it will be commercially viable. There will be a lot of research. You'll be finding and contacting senior professionals in their field; speaking with them, and inviting some of them to speak at the events. Once you have your speakers you'll get information from them so you can produce a summary for promoting the event, with a photo. You'll also need to check finer details, such as dietary requirements. You'll then help to produce the literature for the event, for example getting content for programmes. All of this will have an impact on how successful the event is. Imagine how great it will feel when it all goes well. TRAINING... You don't need any experience with conferences; nor is any knowledge of the industry sectors needed: full training is provided, and you'll learn all of this. Graduates have done very well in the business. WHAT DO YOU NEED... While some degrees may be more relevant (for example: Events, or Business) others will be considered. You will need to be happy speaking with people on the phone, as this is a big part of the job. It can be tough at times, especially when things aren't going as you'd like, so you'll need some resilience to keep going. You won't be able to hide behind sending emails, if someone doesn't answer then try again at a different time. And research skills are needed too; nothing major, but you do need to be able to find people, and work out how to contact them (again some training will be given). WHERE YOU'LL BE DOING IT... It's a fun, creative environment: you'll be working closely with colleagues who are Journalists, and Designers. The offices are not far from Manchester city-centre, Salford side. In time, there could be some scope to work from home. WHAT TO DO NEXT... If you fit the profile then please send your cv asap. We will then speak more about the role and business, and how it may match what you are looking for.
