Contract: Permanent Closing date: Friday 17th May Recruitment Partner: Lizzy Parfitt About the role The Risk and Compliance Manager will provide critical support to the VP General Counsel, Boots and report to the Head of Compliance & Trading Law within the in-house legal team at Boots. You will drive a robust compliance and ethics program within Boots and the No7 Beauty Company. You will also play a crucial role in helping Boots and the No7 Beauty Company to comply with applicable legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements.Key responsibilities: Supporting the VP General Counsel, Boots and Head of Compliance & Trading Law to drive a positive culture of compliance and ethics across Boots (Boots UK, Boots Retail (Ireland) and Boots Opticians) and the No7 Beauty Company.Support the business to implement and document processes and procedures that demonstrate legal, regulatory and internal Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) policy compliance.Being an active member of the Boots Policy Hub, overseeing WBA policy implementation within Boots.Facilitating the documentation of internal policy governance processes, developing and maintaining template documents to ensure future consistency, including responsibility for maintaining a comprehensive compliance manual.Playing an active role in the Boots and No7 Beauty Company Governance, Risk and Compliance meetings.Be responsible for conducting periodic compliance risk assessments resulting in the identification of emerging business risks and quantifying any impact.Being accountable for producing compliance reporting dashboards allowing the VP General Counsel, Boots to see an overview of all compliance matters at any point in time.Producing a written update for the VP General Counsel to brief the Boots Executive team on the monthly basis.Managing the internal "whistleblowing" system and ensure that all case handlers have access to a comprehensive training package.Monitoring and managing completion of mandatory training packages for Boots and No7 Beauty Company team members.Managing and updating the Boots Compliance Manual. What you'll need to have A track record and experience in business governance, risk and compliance.Attention to detail, including drafting internal compliance related policies and procedures.Auditing experience with a focus on business processes and procedures would be advantageous, but not mandatory.Logical thinking and the ability to implement compliance related processes and procedures.Clear and effective communication skills, particularly when dealing with senior business leaders.Ability to facilitate and drive the compliance and ethics culture within the business.Strong reporting and analytical skills to provide the business with a holistic view of overall compliance matters at any point in time. It would be great if you also have A governance risk and compliance, internal audit or financial controls background / qualification would be beneficial.The ability to interpret legislation and apply its principles.The ability to automate compliance reporting via Microsoft Power Automate is desirable. The Compliance Manager will offer proactive consultancy to ensure business areas understand and meet regulatory obligations, embedding a compliance culture across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Provide compliance advice in line with FCA principles and threshold conditions. Ensure business strategies and operations comply with legislative and regulatory requirements. Integrate regulatory requirements into operational systems and procedures. Establish and maintain compliance plans, policies, and processes. Represent the Compliance function in internal and external meetings. Offer training, support, and ongoing advice on compliance and regulatory issues. Investigate and escalate key compliance failures. Manage regulatory query inbox and regulatory reporting. Produce management information for Executive forums and the Board. Review and ensure compliance of all products, providing feedback for improvements. Skills & Experience Required: Insurance experience is a must! Strong knowledge of FCA rules (Consumer Duty, ICOBS, Consumer Credit, GIPP). Ability to interpret and present complex technical information. Excellent report writing skills for Executive forums. Significant experience in providing technical compliance and risk advice. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Understanding of compliance risks and mitigation strategies. Strong planning, organisational, negotiating, and influencing skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Positive attitude with the ability to focus on key compliance issues. Experience working with and challenging senior managers and stakeholders effectively.
