Logistical Support Services LTD has an exciting opportunity to join our management team as a Compliance Manager. As a specialist transport and freight forwarder based in Bristol, we specialise in creating and delivering secure logistics solutions to the Government, Military and Defence sectors on a global scale. As a company that has expanded from our roots as a small niche courier company in 1997, Logistical Support Services has expanded and excelled in becoming a recognised market leader in our sector, amassing the UK's largest fleet of EXII/EXIII vehicles based in Bristol, Stevenage, and Bolton. Throughout our natural progression, our prestigious reputation is built upon performance and compliance remains at the forefront... and this where our newly appointed Compliance Manager will come in. A large part of this significant role is supporting the rest of the Management team by managing, maintaining, implementing and developing policies, procedures and good practice to enable us to keep highly compliant across the relevant industry, operational and legal standards. Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities include; Managing the internal audit program to promote compliance and drive continuous improvement within the business, alongside participation within External Audits. This is inclusive of deliverance of the ISO and other compliance standards ensuring they are effective and remain so. Maintain and uphold our ethos of compliance, being at the centre of our core business values that are respected and desired by internal and external stakeholders. Develop and oversee the training programme to ensure that all staff have the appropriate training in the relevant industry, operational and legal requirements. Ensure that all internal teams understand and adhere to the relevant industry, operational and legal requirements, including designing where applicable certain training programmes to enable continuous improvement. Contribute positive ideas and experience to enhance the compliance monitoring practises and professional working practices, amending any existing procedures to enhance business requirements and operational standards. Maintaining documentation of all procedures, policies and processes updates and changes. Overview of all Health & Safety including incident reports and facility implementation. Oversee and undertake various analysis including sub-contractor/supplier with reporting to senior management. We would like the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience: To be confident and have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbally. To be a team player. Be able to work under pressure or to tight deadlines where required. Strong IT literacy and understanding of MS Office. Ability to be pro-active, self motivated and able to prioritise workloads to be efficient. Able to be flexible, trustworthy and confident. Have motivation to develop within the business.
