This role has a starting salary of £52,047 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. Within the care home market, Surrey is seeing an increase in demand with residents that have complex mental health needs' specifically referring to people with mental health conditions including dementia, functional mental health problems and behaviour that challenges, as well as high physical frailty. To support this increase in demand and complexity, the Residential and Nursing Care Delivery Strategy aims to meet the following objectives: Ensure there is the right care home provision available for the changing needs of the increasing population, making sure 'no one is left behind'. Increase the capacity for Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnership's-funded placements in the residential and nursing care?market, including for complex mental health needs and complex physical frailty. Secure strong relationships with care home providers and identify strategic partners to shape the social care market. Delivering the residential and nursing care provision that people want and need by Improve our offer of support to care home providers to improve quality and outcomes for all residents receiving care. To identify gaps in provision and how these can be addressed through innovation and differing approaches to commissioning care. About the Role As the Commissioning Manager (CM) for the Residential and Nursing Care Delivery Strategy, you will be supporting the Senior Commissioning Manager (SCM) who is leading the strategy development and delivery to achieve the Council's objectives detailed above. You will be required to actively engage in various initiatives aimed at enhancing the provision of care home services. This includes supporting provider engagement to facilitate the introduction of new capacity and shape market dynamics, as well as playing a pivotal role in supporting the procurement of new capacity to meet evolving demands. Additionally, you will be required to support with resident engagement and co-production initiatives, ensuring that the needs and preferences of residents are effectively incorporated into future care provision. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of specifications and support the commissioning of integrated care services, all geared towards improving the overall quality and effectiveness of future care delivery. Beyond these responsibilities you will be required to engage in research and networking activities with other local authority partners to identify and implement best practices. You will also oversee Residential and Nursing Care contract management and address operational issues, as well as playing a supporting role in managing strategic partner exit strategies, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care for residents. Commissioning experience or a strong understanding of commissioning and have a passion for improving outcomes for people. The ability to confidently engage with partners and stakeholders, particularly social care, health, and care home providers to develop care home capacity that meets evolving needs.
