As a key member of our finance team, you will be involved in preparing, scrutinising, managing and analysing the financial data that helps the business make sound decisions.
Your role incorporates recurring and ad-hoc tasks to maintain the financial records of the company as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant financial governance and regulations, as well as internal policies and processes.
The position to cover a period of maternity leave and is for a 12-month fixed term.
We are currently recruiting an Accountant to join for a market leading business based in Bury St Edmunds, on a hybrid basis, on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.
You will be key in ensuring accuracy of the numbers reported in the management accounts, and the integrity of all balance sheet accounting, and to assist with troubleshooting processes and improving controls.
Responsibilities include
Investigating balances and reconciling items, following up, reviewing and redesigning processes.
It is envisaged that you will be a fully qualified accountant and probably already working in industry as either a Financial Accountant or a Management Accountant.
An outstanding opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a great team in a value-add role on a contract basis (12 months).
Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices, experience in financial accounting and reporting plus the ability to present complex accounting information in an easy-to-understand format will all be markers of your success.

The role is part of the Account to Report team and is responsible for Financial Accounting for one or more Entity to deliver accurate and timely execution of Financial Accounting activities.
This role will perform complex transactions and statutory reporting across the set of entity codes.
It also includes support for projects and continuous improvement and liaising with Finance Business Partners for escalations.

They are open to either full time or a 4 day per week role, depending on the candidate's preference and will only be expected in the office for 2 days.
The role would ideally start the first week of September and run until Dec 2025, but they will be happy to discuss pushing the start date forward a little if needs be.
