Infrastructure Engineer Utilities Berkshire - 4 days per week onsite 6 months (long term) £600 - £650 per day In short: Infrastructure Engineer required to join a large utilities company in deploying infrastructure technologies for a SOC. In full: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a key role in setting up servers, headends, switches etc. As an integral part of our physical security infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth installation and configuration of infrastructure and hardware components critical to our operations. Responsibilities: Install and configure servers, headends, switches, racks etc in the environment, adhering to best practices and security standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network infrastructure solutions tailored to the ENVIRONMENT's requirements for physical security. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and performance of installed infrastructure components. Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to procure necessary hardware and equipment for the ENVIRONMENT setup. Document all installation procedures, configurations, and network diagrams to facilitate ongoing maintenance and future expansions of the physical security infrastructure. Provide technical guidance and support to ENVIRONMENT personnel regarding hardware setup, connectivity, and network operations related to physical security systems. Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of ENVIRONMENT infrastructure and data pertaining to physical security. Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends in physical security infrastructure to continuously improve ENVIRONMENT capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Multiple examples of experience in network design, implementation, and infrastructure setup, preferably in a physical security environment. Expertise in installing and configuring servers, switches, and racks, with a strong understanding of network protocols and security principles relevant to physical security systems. Proficiency in creating high-level and low-level design documents, as well as implementation plans using tools like Visio. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex network issues related to physical security systems. Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCNA, and relevant physical security certifications are highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving physical security threats and requirements. To be considered for this role you must have an HNC/D in electronics, along with at least 3 years' experience in a healthcare environment and experienced in the repair and calibration of ultrasound equipment.
