Purpose of the Role The purpose of a Retail & Marketing Assistant is multifaceted and pivotal to the success of our retail business. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to drive footfall and turnover. Reporting to the Retail Marketing Manager, the Retail & Marketing Assistant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a retail business, supporting both the retail and marketing departments to enhance customer satisfaction, drive sales, and promote the brand effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks. Key Responsibilities Assist with the running of the Retail and Marketing departments Collate new weekly offers and product detail from retailers and prepare a weekly report Social media content copywriting and scheduling (promoting offers, news and other messages) Capture photography and videography Website content creation (via Wordpress), ensuring information is up to date and accurate at all times In association with Information Point team, respond to customer comments/feedback on social media, Google, TripAdvisor and other channels Ensure the marketing/retail computer drives are updated and maintained with latest information, files and assets Design and schedule weekly newsletters for our VIP customers (and other groups) via Mailchimp Update the marketing budget tracker and load orders onto the Savills Purchase Ordering system Liaise with existing/potential advertisers, agencies and freelance suppliers. Make basic amends to artwork (via Adobe Illustrator) Prepare and conduct consumer research including event feedback Contribute towards the creation of an annual marketing calendar of events, campaigns and promotions Tenant liaison. Regularly spend time with retailers to assist with their needs and highlight key opportunities to improve performance and establish great relations Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports to include marketing activity and the success of campaigns including feedback from tenants. Aid copywriting and proofing of press releases, marketing briefs and advertising collateral. Attend industry events, exhibitions and competing schemes off-site, from time to time, in line with business needs Fulfil a weekend Duty Manager role on a rolling cycle, alternating with other members of management Brand Representation: Acting as a representative of the Springfields brand by maintaining a professional demeanor and embodying the company's values and image Attend internal management meetings and other meetings as pertinent to role. Support centre events and other initiatives which may include working evenings and weekends Skills, Knowledge and Experience Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following: Essential Basic knowledge of Marketing and Retail principals Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications Basic skills using Adobe Illustrator/Creative Cloud Reliable, helpful and well-presented Good team player Strong customer service skills Ability to deal with confidential information Excellent communication skills Willingness and ability to learn on the job, keen to undertake training and career development Excellent organisational and time management, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task Careful and conscientious, with an aptitude for attention to detail High degree of numeracy and literacy Experience in a retail or marketing environment Good understanding of all popular social media platforms Desirable Qualifications in Marketing Experience working within the retail sector Working Hours - 35 hours p/w #LI-DNI Please see our Benefits Booklet for more information.
