Salary: £37,336 to £40,221 per annum, £15,136 to £16,305 pro rata. Working Pattern: Part-time, 15 hours per week. Contract Length: Fixed-term/Secondment until 30/04/2025, to cover the permanent position holder whilst they are on secondment. Location: Bognor Regis Fire Station, a typical week will combine homeworking with attendance at the office or visits around the County. This is led by the needs of the service. As a School Education Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people are equipped with skills to prevent fire risk. In this role you will: Run targeted and universal programs in all educational settings, training both specialist staff and fire crews. Oversee the day-to-day delivery of both targeted and specialist programmes as well as delivering them. Developing programmes to ensure that the content reflects the needs and requirements of the various stakeholders. This includes stakeholder consultation, working with the Police, Education Consultants and other Fire and Rescue Services. What we are looking for: Ability to organise/prioritise work, co-ordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way and meet agreed deadlines without supervision. Coaching, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence to achieve positive outcomes with a customer focused approach. Ability to analyse and interpret varied and complex situations, information and data to produce strategies over the long term. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Lateral thinking and adaptability to tailor advice and resources to changing circumstances. Degree / Professional qualification relating to working with Children. Experience of delivering targeted programmes to children and young people. Experience running a cadet scheme - desirable.
