As the Head of Engineering, you'll be tasked with steering a talented team of engineers covering electrical, electronics, embedded software, mechanical, production, technicians, etc towards ground-breaking achievements. You'll have no more than 6-direct reports with a multi-disciplinary team of 30-engineers (100 headcount on-site total) who have a good team culture that values innovation, excellence, and personal growth. In this pivotal role, you'll utilise your previous experience as specialist in an area of engineering covering either embedded software, electronics or electro-mechanical design coupled with at least 5-years management experience to drive the strategic direction of the engineering efforts moving forward. Your primary responsibilities will include: Leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary technical team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Overseeing project management processes, from inception to delivery, while adhering to strict time and budget constraints. Championing innovation and new product development initiatives, guiding projects from concept to market launch. Maintaining robust budgetary oversight, setting and managing budgets to optimize resource allocation. We are recruiting for an experienced Electronics Team Leader for a leading manufacturer of innovative measurement sensors range. The Electronic range encompasses specialist level sensing, condition monitoring, position sensors and engine control products for the process control, utilities, off-highway, motorsport and defence markets. As an Electronics Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and administration of the Surface Mount Technology department to deliver daily and future production plans in collaboration with the Lead Hands and Machine Operators. The Team Leader is responsible for organising the team and working closely with the Manufacturing Lead, Production Engineers and Machine Operators with the set-up, maintenance and operation of the surface mount machinery, ensuring time, cost and quality requirements are met. Be hands-on with the operation of machines, ensuring they are set up in a safe manner to begin daily production cycles and meet deadlines. Supervise, control and adjust machine settings. Control or set up raw component bandoliers, sticks or loose component feeds to ensure optimal machine efficiency. Supervisory responsibility of Machine Operators. Organise the team around production activities, pre-approve holidays and manage overtime. Requirements: Experience in an Surface Mount Technology department in a light electromechanical assembly environment. Lead by example, embracing change management and continuous improvement.
