Select are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector for one of our clients on the out skirts of Norwich, Our client are leaders within their field, due to an ever increasing order book, they are looking to add an experienced Quality Inspector to join their established team. The role of the Mechanical Quality Inspector is to ensure that all products meet the quality requirements of the customer and the organisation. This position reports directly to the Chief Inspector. As a hands-on inspector, you will be responsible for executing general inspection functions both visual and dimensional, including correctly and properly using mechanical measuring devices and reporting results. The Main responsibilities will include: Perform complete inspections to engineering drawings. Conduct measurements such as length, height, and distance, using precision instruments such as micrometres, vernier calipers, dial test indicators, Faro arm and coordinate measuring machine. Locate datum's on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc and radii using a combination of aids such as parallel bars, gauge blocks, v blocks, sine bars and precision measuring instruments such as a digital height gauge. Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess in process manufacturing variations. Report quality problems or findings to the chief inspector and follow up to ensure corrective action has been put in place. Interact with different departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate acceptance of parts. Inspect surface coatings such as anodising, phosphate and paint to specifications. Check commercial off the shelf items conform to specifications required and the relevant documentation has been received. Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role. About the Person: Essential Previous experience in a quality or inspection role working within a manufacturing or engineering environment Good working knowledge of engineering drawings including GD&T Experience using hand held measuring equipment. The ability to work individually and as part of a team Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight schedules. Good computer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Have the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and work as a team Strong attention to detail. Full Driving Licence to drive in the UK and abroad. Valid passport with no travel restrictions. Desirable Use of CNC/ CMM's (PC-DMIS) A willingness to learn and develop. Techniche Global are supporting leading electronics manufacturer in Andover, Hampshire to appoint a Good In - Quality Inspector Responsibilities: To carry out Goods Inward inspection across all sites for bespoke component parts entering the company; ensuring compliance to design specification and contractual requirements. component parts include, but are not limited to: bare Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), bespoke metalwork such as cases or lids, seals and gaskets. To carry out Goods Inwards inspection of component parts arriving from grey-market sources through the use of various tools, including an X-Ray machine, in order to identify or highlight any potential counterfeit product. To identify and record any non-conformances to specification requirements by raising the adequate paperwork and segregating any suspect goods To liaise with various stakeholder departments to address any queries with items being inspected To liaise with various stakeholder departments to support the processing of customer returns To support the Stores department by conducting random inspections on goods received and kits prior to issue and to report on any nonconformities found To identify and process expired materials Requirements: Essential: Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment ideally within the Electronics Manufacturing Sector Experience of reading and understanding detailed mechanical drawings, essential Computer Literate with use of Microsoft Word, Excel and use of MRP or ERP systems would be an advantage Use of handheld metrology instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and Slip Gauges Strong team work background Ability to follow instruction Good communication skills Desirable: Holds a minimum Level 3 Qualifications, ideally in electronics engineering or equivalent.
