This role is pivotal in driving strategic growth and positioning the company for a successful exit. Responsibilities Include: Leadership: Direct a team of approximately 500 professionals and oversee a revenue stream of £120 million, ensuring continued success year after year. Strategic Oversight: with reporting lines to an established c-suite, including the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Operations Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Product Officer (CPO). Expansion Planning: Develop comprehensive strategies for international expansion, targeting new regions and markets. Financial Growth: Drive EBIT growth in preparation for a successful exit. Compensation and Requirements: Competitive Salary: Up to £350,000 base with £200,000 in bonuses, alongside multi-million stock options and exit incentives. About the Role Our client, a leading organization in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance - Chief Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for providing exceptional financial management and expertise, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the company's vision and financial strategy. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the Council's financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability Provide strategic financial advice, insight, and support to senior stakeholders Evaluate and mitigate financial risks and identify opportunities for financial growth Manage and monitor the council's capital programme, ensuring robust evaluation and effective financial reporting Advise on investment and funding strategies, including risk and performance assessment Lead the annual coordinating and closure of the Council's and Pension Fund's accounts Establish and maintain effective financial systems and procedures, ensuring budgetary control and value for money Produce informative reports for senior stakeholders, aiding informed decision making Job Requirements Full membership of CCAB (preferably CIPFA), CFA, or ACT with significant post-qualification experience Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a post-graduate qualification desirable Proven experience in strategic financial management within a large public sector organization Strong knowledge of public sector funding arrangements and understanding of local government challenges Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage budgets, apply rigorous planning and control procedures, and deliver large-scale projects Highly proficient in MS Office suite and financial systems Ability to think critically, demonstrate resilience, and drive continuous improvement If you have a strong background in finance and are looking for an exciting opportunity in the Defence & Security sector, then we want to hear from you.
