Warehouse Manager Nights We are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our night team in our Bedford depot. Reporting in to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will lead the operations of the warehouse night shift in line with finance targets and legal compliance whilst achieving the best possible level of service excellence to internal and external customers, delivered through effective engaging and motivational leadership. Effective team deployment and development is vital to ensure the warehouse operation provides the highest levels of operational efficiencies, service excellence and productivity within the business. You'll be capable of recruiting and inducting skilled and motivated people into our business and will lead, coach and engage teams to be successful. As a Warehouse Manager you will need to be able to coach and engage individuals to perform to their maximum potential and must communicate effectively with individuals at all levels including those within different departments. You'll promote and manage all QHSE and sustainability standard, focusing on team wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies. This includes PPE, ops checks, MHE, contractors, hygiene, temperature checks, pest control, accidents and near misses. To be successful in this role you'll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to consistently apply HR standards specifically around recruitment, absence management, performance, conduct, safety and service. You will be able to set clear expectations including KPIs, safety and team behaviours to all direct reports by setting annual objectives and holding regular one to ones to review performance. You'll be confident in processing and understanding data from systems such as WMS, Risk Console and our employee self-serve system. You must have food warehousing and distribution experience, ideally backed up with an IOSH qualification. You will be an excellent planner and communicator, with the ability to communicate with all levels across different shifts and departments. As this is a new start up depot, you'll ideally have experience of this too. If this sounds like you, look forward to hearing from you Key Responsibilities Achievement of the daily/weekly/monthly KPI's through effective guidance and coaching of direct reports. Lead a team and create an engaging environment encouraging direct reports to drive performance through a balanced approach of recognition and managing performance against agreed KPI's. To control all department resources and costs within agreed finance targets and / or flex accordingly based on volume and customer requirements without compromising safety, people, service and costs. Communicates with people at all levels including people on different shifts, different departments and the Depot Leadership team. Manages and delivers briefings to the team to ensure they are aware of, and adhere to all Company messages, policies and procedures. Ensure full departmental compliance through regular monitoring of QHSE and Sustainability standards, focusing on team wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies. This includes PPE, ops checks, racking, MHE, Contractors, hygiene, waste management and reduction, temperature checks, pest control, accidents and near misses. Monitoring all investigation activity to understand root cause and make sure that corrective and preventative action, has been implemented and solutions identified or escalated where necessary. Monitor stock reports and work collaboratively with wider teams to reduce damage and ensure cost and customer availability KPI's are met. Take an inclusive approach to continuous improvement by reviewing the operation as whole, recommending, and developing opportunities to peers and depot leadership.
