Surveying Lecturer Salary: Negotiable Location: Shrewsbury Contract: Part-Time, Temporary (potential Temp to Perm) A reputable educational institution in Shrewsbury is seeking a Surveying Lecturer to join the Construction Department. The role involves delivering the surveying element of Level 3, Level 4, T Level, and HTQ courses. The position is for 9 hours per week over two days, with the potential to increase to 12 hours. The ideal candidate will be competent in using surveying instruments, transcribing results to a computer, and confident in IT. Day-to-day of the role: Teach construction and the built environment, specialising in land surveying and geospatial survey work. Contribute to a range of units under the guidance of the curriculum director and team. Undertake administrative tasks associated with student learning programmes, including preparation, marking, and reporting. Develop and maintain up-to-date syllabuses and schemes of work. Set, mark, and moderate examinations and assignments as required by examining bodies. Participate in meetings and contribute to the development, planning, and organisation of courses. Engage in marketing and promotional activities, including liaison with employers and external bodies. Undertake research and consultancy work as agreed. Comply with health and safety policies and promote the college's strategic plan objectives. Required Skills & Qualifications: Surveying qualification and extensive experience in land surveying. Experience using Total Station is essential. Knowledge of land surveying techniques and geospatial information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
