Location: Portsmouth Salary:£15.00 per hour Hours: 24 per week Contract: Permanent/ Part-time To provide care and support to a young person with Cerebral Palsy and Autism, who is fully wheelchair dependent. The ideal candidate must have an energetic and enthusiastic approach, be patient and enjoy doing craft activities, as the young person enjoys doing this on a daily basis. You will have experience working with people with Autism and associated behavioural challenges. You will work in the person's own home and undertake a wide range of duties to include personal care, moving and handling, hoisting, medication administration as well as support with and promoting their rehabilitation. Responsibilities will also include enabling and encouraging the client to access school, leisure and community activities. Some household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping will also be required. The client has two dogs and duties will also include some pet care. Hours of Work: An average of 24 hours per week Tuesday 14:00-23:30 Tuesday sleep in 23:30-07:00 Wednesday 07:00 10:00 Thursday 14:00-19:00 Alternate weekends: Saturday 18:00-23:30 Sleep in 23:30 07:00 Sunday 09:30 18:00 (sleep-in shifts will commence once the client gets to know the worker) Rates of Pay £15.00 per hour £11.44 per hour for sleep-in hours Must hold a full UK driving licence, be willing to drive the client's vehicle to and from school and accompany the client on trips within the community.
