Secure Home Responsibilities: For the Residential Practitioner in the Secure home, your responsibilities include: Creating a Stimulating Environment: Contribute to providing a safe and stimulating environment where young people can develop and mature. You will be working with a fantastic team and will be supporting them in introducing and delivering their groundbreaking CYP Emotional Well Being model across Leeds and the surrounding areas. This will include working closely with a range of professionals and local services and supporting Children and Young people with low level mental health needs in their centres, schools and community services. The role will include supporting Children and Young People ages 0-25 who are experiencing low level mental health issues. Synopsis of duties: Providing specialist support and advise to Children and Young People who need support with their mental health Supporting children and young people aged 0 25 through drop in and crisis work and supporting them (and for the young children their parents and/ or carers) with coping mechanisms and strategies and through making referrals Providing emotional and practical support to Children and Young People You will initial focus on supporting children through their Open Access drop-in sessions but the service will extend to also provide structured 1-1 sessions with Children and Young KJpeople to help with their complex needs Promoting the service in the local community, in schools and colleges Encouraging the child/young person to use tools to help better their mental health and offer coping strategies Working collaboratively with partners, ensuring the needs of service users are met Ensuring that safeguarding is of paramount importance, ensuring that all safeguarding measures are always followed Hours and Shifts The service runs from 9am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. Ideally, they would like candidates to do one-week early shifts and one late but there is some flexibility around this for the right candidate. For those young people with disabilities and complex needs, provide appropriate levels of personal care, including bathing, toileting, and dressing, changing and feeding. Plan and organise activities on a daily basis as well as for special celebrations and festivals. Manage behaviour in an assertive and positive manner. And as a last resort, be able to safely restrain a young person following appropriate training. Support young people to gain the maximum benefit from education. Be responsible for preparing, reviewing and amending care plans, risk assessments and maintenance of files and other administrative tasks. Provide good communication, written and oral.
