You will be joining the outdoor Welcome Team based at Fell Foot Park which is situated at the bottom of Windermere, England's largest lake.
The site welcomes 150,000 visitors a year, most of whom come to enjoy the open spaces, beautiful views, outdoor activities and access to the lake.
We are a small but dedicated team, all with different skill sets who enjoy working together to help people enjoy the outdoors and introduce them to the wonderful Lake District.
As an Assistant Ranger apprentice, you will be working as a member of the rangering team as they conserve the environment that makes the countryside both distinctive and special and help take care of our protected landscapes.

The role covers the day to day duties and maintenance for running a country park.
Tasks will include bin emptying, litter picking, toilet cleaning, fishing and play park checks, cleaning BBQ's, strimming and mowing, engaging with the public, taking bookings for facilities and working across multiple country parks.
There will be opportunities to be involved with running volunteer sessions and carrying out countryside management tasks.

This role has a starting salary of £39,355 per annum, based on working 36-hours per week.
Although this role is advertised as full time, we are also happy to consider part time applications for this role and have a conversation over what this would look like.
