We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Business Development Manager, with account management experience, to join this well established, multi-site meat business at their location in Canterbury. As Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the market presence and driving revenue growth through the development of the retail and foodservice channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and nurturing existing customer relationships and identifying, and capitalising on, new business prospects. With a focus on consultative selling and strategic account management, the postholder will leverage their industry expertise and sales acumen to achieve and exceed targets. Role / Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts - Acting as the primary interface between the company and relevant customers. Make B2B calls targeting potential new customers to familiarise them with the company's products and services and engage them to become regular customers - Developing new accounts and identifying opportunities for future development. Provide first class customer service - Relationship building with key customer personnel, e.g. Business Owners/Managers, Buying / Procurement Teams, Retail Managers and Chefs. Keep up to date with all market information both product, consumer and competitor related.. Represent the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events. The Individual: The successful individual will have: A proven sales track record and possess, as a minimum, foodservice / catering sector experience; ideally a history of working within the fresh meat industry would be preferred (but is not essential). Excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) able to communicate cross functionally and build trust with internal and external customers. Financially numerate with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Good commercial awareness and acumen. Capable of developing and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of products and services. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Full Driving license and a willingness to conduct customer visits. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive package including a basic salary in the region of £40-45K dependant on skills and experience.
