Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: East Grinstead Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and contribute to the delivery of support for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND). The ideal candidate will provide effective, individualised support, ensuring students can access their learning and achieve their potential. Day to Day of the Role: Support students with SEND on an individual and small group level, under the direction of the SENDCo/Assistant SENDCo. Motivate and inspire students to meet their potential and integrate into all curriculum activities. Liaise with teaching staff to create an inclusive classroom environment. Work as part of the SEND team to share good practice and experiences. Address students' pastoral needs to facilitate social and academic progress. Prepare and share resources to support learning activities. Supervise students in "The Hub" and assist with access arrangements in assessments/examinations. Maintain updated knowledge and understanding of SEND practices and engage in relevant professional development. Required Skills & Qualifications: GCSEs A-C in English and Maths or equivalent. Experience supporting students with SEND within a learning environment. Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and commitment to the protection of young people. Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. Effective communication and organisational skills. IT skills to support students at a 1:1 level and within a classroom or small group environment. Understanding of school routines and procedures. Personal Qualities: Strong interpersonal skills, able to manage difficult conversations and potential conflict. Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work under pressure.
