Assistant Buyer Leicester LE4 Permanent Office based Salary to £28k The Opportunity Family owned, a business that supplies light industrial products to both Domestic and Trade Customers are going from strength to strength and are seeking to add to their Buying Team. This is a perfect opportunity for somebody in a Procurement role (or somebody with relatable experience looking to get into Procurement) where you can develop your skills and undertake full MCIPS qualification. Note MCIPS qualifications are not essential. The Role Duties described as below. In summary, you'll be working closely with the Head Buyer and wider business in ensuring fast order fulfilment whilst giving the senior leadership team visibility in order to support commercial decision making. Your main duties will be: Placing and tracking purchase orders (Typically 50-60 in process at any one time) Managing inventory and keeping track of market trends Requesting quotations and negotiate pricing Keeping the business and it's stakeholders abreast with Price changes Bills Of Material creations, loading SKU's (fast moving small products, '000's of SKU codes) Identify discrepancies in inventory and provide solutions Coordinate deliveries overseas and customs procedures and track the movement of the goods Develop and manage good relationships with suppliers and shipping companies Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and cost savings achieved At times, you'll be involved in the data and analytics in supporting budget monitoring and stock valuation The Candidate We're looking to engage with interested applicants who have experience within a similar role OR somebody who has very close transferable skills. The experienced hire would need to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above with little hand holding. You'll be well versed in purchasing, especially from a volume product background, ideally fast moving products. The "budding buyer" hire would need to demonstrate experience within a product based role, hight volume, perhaps the type of business that has a broad range (even a catalogue). In this environment you will have developed the key elements of pulling various processes together, finding solutions , working with data and importantly customers and or suppliers, specifically the influencing of others to make things happen. Experienced in Buying or a Career Changer, you'll possess excellent People and Team working skills, be confident in approach, have commercial and operational awareness.
