The Recruitment Co are recruiting for an experienced Product/Consumer Research Assistant to join our clients expanding team. A world-leading manufacturer of high-quality technical products. Contract: Permanent Salary: £35,000pa Shifts: Full time The Role: This is a new role within our clients expanding clinical department. Candidates most suitable for this role will be T-Shaped individuals who are exceptionally skilled in at least one competence, yet capable of applying knowledge outside of one's own area of expertise. Solid experience in the field of Product Development is desirable. Your key mission will be to identify consumer needs and tension areas and to translate, verify and validate these insights through clinical and application research. You will coordinate information from various departments, and work in collaboration with the clinical team to design highly specialised, consumer-centric investigations. Using a range of research techniques and methods, you will aid the design of future studies linking in 'habits and needs', plus 'usage and attitudes' of consumers around the world to inform product development. You will be responsible for running end-to-end consumer research to drive product development/enhancements. You will gather materials to launch surveys, work with Excel data and write reports. You will also utilise historical research results and plan new research projects in this segment. Key Objectives/KPI's:- Collect and analyse customer data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations. Develop and maintain customer segmentation models to better understand customer behaviour, preferences, and needs. Conduct in-depth analysis of customer journeys, interactions, touchpoints to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, customer service (quality), to gather requirements and define KPIs for customer insights. Design and execute surveys, focus groups and other research methodologies to gather qualitative feedback and insights from customers. Utilise statistical techniques to forecast customer behaviour and outcomes. Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualisations to communicate insights and recommendations. Support the creation and substantiation plans for strong marketing claims. Safe-guard consumer satisfaction throughout the life cycle of the solution before product launch Apply relevant tools fitting the project, to verify and validate consumer needs. Experience: An academic degree in consumer orientated education, such as User-System Interaction, Design for Interaction, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design, Social Psychology or other equivalent qualification Experience working in user research, consumer science, industrial design, psychology in the domain of product or service development. Working experience with UX/UI design Broad understanding of key consumer research methodologies Sound understanding of statistics. Experience in marketing/product development. An in-depth understanding of consumer insight generation and proposition development processes. Experience in consumer analysis and proposition writing. About you: Reporting directly into the Senior Product Manager, this role will be responsible for owning the product backlog with the ability to understand customer requirements, work with senior leaders to agree and confirm the market opportunity, building appropriate business cases where required, to ensure that development activity is focused on delivering both customer and business benefit. The exciting challenge will be to balance the maintenance of our existing core products whilst driving a very ambitious build programme for our new strategic solution. Day-to-day, you will: Be responsible for the determining of the key features of Initiatives / projects in a timely manner as part of Release planning, creating value for both customers and the company. Act as liaison between the Development team and the user to interpret requirements and relay clear use cases and customer problems to the development teams. To manage the product backlog and backlog visibility to prioritize user stories for implementation. Work closely with the Development / UI team participating in scrum meetings and giving feedback, setting new sprint goals, and relaying new user stories. Be responsible for the How / When key features will be delivered, producing a clear Release Plan and be responsible for monitoring performance against the agreed release dates. Provide clear acceptance criteria for each specified feature / user story - Establish a clear definition of done. Will own the communication channel of each product release, sharing with all key stakeholders. Work with colleagues to analyse market trends and changes in requirements / priorities. Work with colleagues to define the strategy - Where are we now, where do we want to be and how are we going to get there? Participate / lead focus groups to elicit customer feedback to feed into the Release / Roadmap process Your skills and experiences might also include: Will have a good understanding of Product Ownership techniques and an understanding of the Healthcare/Local Government market drivers. You will have excellent organizational skills, be adept at structured and evidence-based decision making. Previous product ownership experience is desirable but not essential. Experience of working in the Healthcare or Local Government sector Excellent communication skills Attention to detail and ability to break complex subjects down into simple /easy to understand use cases. Ability to focus on Problem Solving - What is the problem we are trying to solve? Ability to prioritise and groom product backlogs. Ability to engage with all key stakeholders.
