My client, a market leader in their industry are currently recruiting for a permanent assistant management accountant. This is a brilliant opportunity reporting straight into the Financial Controller joining this growing business. Hours - 8:30-17:30 - Monday to Friday Hybrid working - 2 to 3 days week in the office (3 to 4 for first few weeks for training) Car park on site! The role will be responsible for the following: Financial Accounting: Collaborating with other finance team members and various departments across the business to manage General Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss (P&L) accounting. Customer Rebate Management: Overseeing the customer rebate process, which involves validating rebate claims and maintaining an accruals schedule. Reporting and Period End Accounting: Regularly producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, with a strong focus on period end accounting and management accounts preparation. Finance Administration and Cross-Functional Tasks: Handling general finance administration tasks, addressing ad hoc requests, and participating in cross-functional work. External Audit Support: Assisting in the external audit process by addressing auditor queries and providing necessary information. Procedure Documentation: Creating and maintaining procedure documentation in collaboration with the finance team and other business units. Business Information Support: Providing accurate, timely, and relevant information to meet the business's information needs. Budget and Forecast Collaboration: Working closely with other finance team members and broader business teams to support the completion of Budget, Forecast, and 3-Year Plans. The ideal candidate will have/be: Experience: Ideally, 2-3 years of experience in a similar role. Organisational Scale: While experience in a large-scale organisation is desirable, it is not essential. The Finance Manager Role As Finance Manager, you will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller and will have two geographies to cover - France and Germany. This will require someone who has excellent remote people management skills. Your responsibilities will include overseeing/preparing end-to-end finance operations, balance sheet reconciliations, improving procedures and controls, as well as contributing to ad-hoc projects. As Finance Manager you will: Will work closely with European country leads providing a business partnering function to include providing financial information and commentary, KPI review meetings, and challenge to the local financials. Preparation of monthly management accounts with supporting balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with group reporting timelines. Monthly analysis of variances against budget and prior year. Preparation of annual financial statements according to IFRS. Produce cashflow forecasts. Responsibility for the processing of payment transactions and account management. Develop and maintain financial controls, systems and risk management procedures ensuring compliance with the group control framework. Planning and implementation of internal projects. Provide guidance and support to a team of three direct reports dispersed across the group. The ideal Finance Manager will have the following qualities: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Several years of experience in a financial position, including relevant industry (and not purely practice) experience. Up-to-date advanced knowledge of IFRS. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with experience in managing finance teams. Solid understanding of financial and management accounting. Highly IT literate, with an ability to learn new software quickly. Knowledge of ERP software packages. Ability to travel to our clients European offices on a quarterly basis German and French language skills are highly desirable but not essential. What is on offer for the successful Finance Manager?
