My clients are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join their team, playing a pivotal role in assisting with financial reports, data analysis for business decisions, and management accounting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance and contribute to the creation of a business partnering approach, providing commercial and analytical support across the organisation. Day to Day of the role: Assist with month-end preparation, including accruals, pre-payments, tax reconciliations, stock review, and P&L and balance sheet analysis. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure cover of duties and timely delivery to meet deadlines. Conduct regular reviews of creditors and resolve any issues in conjunction with the Finance Assistant. Manage the royalties process in collaboration with the Marketing team. Foster a business partnering approach with cost centre owners, reviewing results and identifying improvement opportunities. Implement process improvements and support system developments. Provide support for product costing and analysis activities. Contribute to the annual budget process and year-end audit. Monitor and report on significant cost areas to the Head of Finance. Produce commercial analysis as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent experience; candidates currently studying will also be considered. Considerable experience within a finance role, including familiarity with P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow preparation. Intermediate level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and use initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexible approach and ability to work well within a team. Experience with an ERP system and in an SME e-commerce/manufacturing B2C environment is advantageous. Offering some flexible working and reporting into the Finance Director you will be responsible for supporting with the smooth running of the company's finances. Duties and Responsibilities will include: Account's payable function, processing supplier invoices, arranging approval, scheduling supplier payment runs Dealing with supplier reconciliation's/queries promptly by telephone and email Process employee expense claims Bookkeeping activities including recording transactions in accounting system. Bank reconciliation's Ownership of month end process Assistance with monthly management accounts Processing quarterly VAT returns Processing monthly CIS returns Input monthly payroll journals. Providing assistance with annual statutory audit and other ad hoc inspections by reporting bodies Conducting ad hoc reports for the team General office admin tasks The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar job within a varied finance role. You will need to have working experience of an accounting package such as Sage, Access, or similar software alongside good working knowledge of Excel. You will need to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to multitask, work well under pressure and working with willingness, accuracy and attention to detail.
