Having successfully recruited into our teams at the start of this year, we now require an additional Assembly and Production Assistant as the business continues to grow. The Assembly role will be part of our friendly team and join our modern manufacturing and production site in Alton working Mon to Fri with an early Fri finish and overtime available, if desired along with free parking onsite. We have a structured pay scale that increases as your training progresses within the role. The role would suit candidates with some previous assembly or production experience, ideally using hand held tools or similar. We can provide training to those applicants who would like to work in our assembly team having gained other hands on experience or who have these skills from a hobby. The Assembly role requires the accurate and timely manufacture of the company's products working from an Assembly work bench as part of our team. Your role will be varied and cover both PCB and more general production assembly work so you must have an eye for detail and enjoy working within a precision based role. Preparation of sub-assembly and/or final assembly of products using the appropriate work instructions or standard manufacturing samples. Perform on line product testing using the relevant test instructions and test equipment provided. Perform the final check, labelling and packing of the products including any installation instructions ready for dispatch. Operation of light production machinery according to the level of responsibility, experience and as supervised. Ensure that production output is efficient, of consistently high quality and in line with allocated process timings. Ensure all manufacturing and general procedures are followed as defined in the Company Quality Manual and to ensure production and assembly areas are maintained in a safe, clean and tidy manner. Assist with the production build, assembly tasks and support the rest of the production team when required by the Production Supervisor/Management. Ensure that the work order details are followed as detailed on the printed Bills of Material and Job Cards and highlight any issues or problems to the Production Supervisor. Monitor and control any non-conforming materials, sub-assemblies or products generated as part of the manufacturing process and highlight any failures to the Production Supervisor. To be successful as an Assembly Operative you should have the following skills:- Ability to use small hand tools and have good hand to eye co-ordination and dexterity. Ideally some previous production or assembly experience. You must be able to communicate and work well with others in a small team environment. Soldering or printed circuit board assembly experience is beneficial but if you don't have this experience then you must be keen to learn. Main missions and results: Plans, organizes, and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives. Reports deviations from the standard and takes corrective actions. Take action to ensure team achieves relevant operational KPIs. Supervises team activities relating to conversion of demand plans, build plans into realistic and achievable material supply schedules and ensures is in alignment with launch build rates and ramp ups. Works closely with Lead Material Flow and Packaging Coordinator and other functions to ensure effective, lean material set-up and flow utilizing PFEP tools and through cooperation with the engineering department in the development of the plant layout. Ensures team utilises and accurately maintains business ERP and other business systems. Supervises team activities relating to customer shipments by ensuring team organizes product packaging in accordance with the instructions of the customer and organizes required product transports in conjunction with logistics team members. Supervises the provision of packaging by promoting the use of reusable packaging working close with Lead Material Flow and Packaging Coordinator to ensure deliveries of finished product packaging with relevant customers. Supports team in ensuring compliance to inventory optimization and inventory management policies and procedures.
