Job Title: Apprentice Plater / Welder Location: Sheffield Salary: DOE Job Type: Full time, Permanent Purpose of job: This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience by working as an Apprentice within our Company. Apprenticeships give you the opportunity and support to develop new work- placed skills in an organisation committed to your professional success. As an Apprentice, you will fully commit to the off-the-job training requirements of the post alongside your normal day-to-day job. The post holder will complete a course of study and/or all learning and development requirements of the role. You will have the opportunity to participate in a supportive environment to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills required of the role and the team. You will commit to your professional development plan, set out at the beginning of your Apprenticeship. As an Apprentice you will be expected to take ownership of the tasks and projects set out by your line manager and understand the importance of managing both professional and learning responsibilities. To accurately assemble fabrications within the required time-scale to approved quality standards. Responsibilities: Work to the required standards using and complying to the information provided ensuring work is completed "Right First Time". Read and understand technical drawings. Work in a safe manner to promote personal safety and the safety of others to prevent accidents occurring and report all near misses. Ensure that the job is completed within the required timescale meeting quality requirements. Book on and off all jobs in Jobboss ensuring accurate times are recorded. Follow working instructions and understand what is required before you commence work. If you are not sure what to do, please ask your Manager. Handle all machined parts with care. Complete any paperwork/records accurately and on time. Work productively throughout the shift i.e. startup times; break times and finishing times. Ensure that the job number is identified on all components. Follow Company/Departmental Procedures - if you are not sure ask your Manager. Any ad hoc duties as and when requested to do so. Use PPE in areas where you are required to do so. Keep your work area clean, tidy and free from obstruction at all times thus creating a safe working environment. Ensure that any waste is disposed of correctly. Follow the company's Health & Safety Policy at all times.
