As the Accounts Assistant, you will be expected to provide accounts support to enable us to deliver an efficient and professional service to our clients. Your duties will include: Bookkeeping services for a small number of local clients. This includes maintaining/checking the client's bookkeeping software, and providing management accounts and other reports to directors. This may very occasional client visits together with remote connection from our offices; Preparation and timely submission of quarterly VAT returns under MTD from source information. Communication with clients to ensure all issues are resolved and that clients understand their liability and payment dates; Assisting with preparation of sole traders accounts and for some Limited Company clients. Ad hoc administrative duties, answering client calls, raising invoices. Relevant experience and skills: AAT qualified or qualified by experience Ideally have experience in working in an accountancy practice Have fundamental technical knowledge of VAT return preparation for small owner managed businesses Excel/Word & Outlook Sage 50/ Sage 1 Xero/Quickbooks For this role, the applicant should be Self motivated; Able to work without direct detailed supervision; Able to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Own transport would be an advantage.
