Job Purpose Summary: The Application Engineer will aid the Sales, Project Managers and Application team with the implementation of Audio, Video, and Lighting designs. We are seeking a skilled and innovative candidate who is personable, good at working in a team and who has a great working knowledge of professional Audio systems. This role requires expertise in creating effective audio designs that enhance the impact and immersivity of entertainment venues for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, creative vision, and the ability to bring artistic concepts to life through cutting-edge audio installations. We cover venues from bars and shops, through theme parks, and all the way up to stadiums and arenas. Key Responsibilities: Assist to create/commission system design details for varied installation projects. Support and liaise with sales team in reference to quoting and technical requirements at the early stages of projects through to finalising quotations. Responsible for field service call outs and maintenance of integrations across existing and developing projects, with time away (including occasional weekends), requiring extensive travel within the UK, to cover on site working for the commissioning of systems. Assist with client training experiences, ensuring installations are being effectively operated by the end user. Offer remote support via software platforms like TeamViewer etc. Assist and support Integration's project managers in delivering projects to agreed specifications. Liaise effectively and professionally with third parties and customers to provide a high standard of support and customer service, adhering tocompanystandards. Assist the sales team to build and manage customer relationships, passing on leads and market intelligence. Familiarising yourself with developments in digital technology and related installations technology and how that can be applied to our projects to enhance our offerings or develop new business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an qualified engineer, with experience in manufacturing and a passion for working closely with clients, to join an experienced technical team. This role can accommodate remote or hybrid working across Yorkshire and requires occasional travel across the UK, Ireland (and occasionally European). As the Applications Engineer you will: Serve as the technical lead to assist customers in troubleshooting and/or application development of new and existing products (will require travel). Support sales activities for the new and key customers with technical calls, visits and training, as and when required. Coordinate testing required for prototypes, pilot production and final customer acceptance. Coordinate the development activities within the business including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Installation equipment departments. Generate manufacturing costs and submit to the pricing coordinator. Coordinate, plan and conduct training with new and key distributors and customers. Will work closely with overseas suppliers. Undertake research to support the learning of new processes, products and technologies. Use SolidWorks to draw new prints for customer and internal use. To be considered for the Applications Engineer role you will require: Third level degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 1-3 years of engineering experience. Application Engineering skills with track record of solving problems and working in or with a cross functional team. Proficient with Solid Modelling software (Solidworks preferred) and Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interpret and communicate data accurately. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Ability to review data, draw conclusions and make suggestions based on data. Experience in giving technical presentations. Team Leader and Advanced Product Quality Planning experience is a plus. Able to work independently and create projects that are not directly assigned. Able to work independently and manage design/development projects from start to finish with close coordination with global facilities. Ability to speak German would be highly advantageous but not essential. As the Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for driving and supporting the development of fuel injection test solutions for the company and OE partner approved solutions from concept through to completion. The role is a "hands-on"role. You will be a self-starter who is proficient working in a development workshop environment, working on diagnostic equipment, as well as within an office environment, writing specifications, analysing data, and holding formal meetings/discussions. The Role Act as Lead Engineer on R&D projects. Developing the functional specifications and the concepts which will deliver new products and accessories. Designing and executing experiments to validate/verify new machine / control concepts. Writing project technical documentation (eg. specifications, timing plans, acceptance test procedures, user manuals, applications guides). You NPI/NPD experience in an engineering/product development environment Ability to create and develop technical specifications. Knowledge & experience with hydraulic and electrical control systems Experience in developing test techniques, their execution and subsequent data analysis, using analysis/measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes. Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically competent with MS Excel and/or other data processing tools Ability to read technical drawings and an understanding of mechanical design principles. Knowledge of Diesel Common Rail and Gasoline Direct fuel injection systems Knowledge of project management tools and techniques Basic CAD experience i.e. opening drawings, opening assemblies.
